Debuting at Blue Water Divers in April 2016, for a school career day, Tommy, also known as Cleats, has become an integral part of the crew. He is a child of the 80s, born in 2002. Tommy is a PADI Divemaster (#508802).
Cleats has grown up before the very eyes of the BWD staff continues to amaze them daily. From the time he sliced his finger open while removing a sticker to the time he came off his bike as result of playing tag, he remains strong and fearless. He is a loyal patron of Calico Jack's and even has his name on the bell (be sure to give it a ring!) and face on the iPad. Cleats manages to find free drinks from bar staff anywhere he goes. It will be difficult to find a truer Dockyard rat.
These days Cleats is identifiable by his flowing blonde mullet and bright Hawaiian shirts. Occasionally equipped with a cowboy hat. Often times you can hear him before you can see him, due to the fact that rather loud country music can usually be heard in his presence.
He doesn't just work in recreational diving either! In 2020 he travelled to England to be trained as a commercial diver. Since then he has worked in several 'fun' places, such as, Windsor Castle, Sea Life London Aquarium and Cardiff Docks. Cleats is a jack of all trades and a true master of none.
In 2019 Tommy became the website manager at BWD and as a result of that... He writes everything.
"a real cool dude" - author of this page
"sometimes he's funny" - Nick (Tommy's best friend)
"please go home" - Rob (Manager of Calico Jacks)
